A senior White House aide has told White House reporter Philip Melanchthon Wegmann from Real Clear Politics that Pfizer did not notify the current Trump administration beforehand and only learned of the announcement from press reports.
It was previously reported that the Biden team was informed about the announcement before it was made from Pfizer last night.
This is an odd move by Pfizer to not notify the current administration regarding important vaccine developments and choose to instead only notify a presidential candidate awaiting the results of a contested election.
Earlier today, Pfizer had also told the New York Times that it was not part of the Trump Administrations Warp Speed program, but now has reversed the company’s initial statement to the Times.
