‘Disaster’ ArriveCan app cost taxpayers nearly $20 million to develop
The now infamous ArriveCan app not only angered Canadians, it also cost them a staggering $20 million to develop.
Trudeau’s government spent nearly $20 million developing the now infamous ArriveCan app.
The app was imposed on travelers coming into Canada, including Canadian citizens. Travelers had to complete a series of forms and provide a quarantine plan to the Canadian government.
The Trudeau government kept the app mandatory even as most industrialized countries were dropping COVID restrictions.
Trudeau’s liberals finally announced the app would be optional to use starting October 1st, over two years after it was first introduced in April 2020.
The app was severely criticized by experts and industry leaders as it wreaked havoc on Canadian airports and border crossings, creating unreasonable wait times for Canadians and travelers coming into the country.
It is unclear how such a disastrous app could cost $20 million to develop, online users pointed out
.
And remember the app isn’t gone, as in gone. It’s been paused. So, at any moment a national emergency could re-appear and that beloved app will just get turned on again. Never let a good crisis go to waste. I wonder what the next one will be?
Oh, tons more than that!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let’s add all the airport and custom bureaucracy.....etc......remember the amount is never the real amount. It’s all part of collecting data forever, and making Canadians anxious and compliant. We will never know where money goes with Liberals handing it out. Remember, psychopaths never tell the truth.
